intent's final chapter

intent's final chapter

It is very bittersweet to announce the closing of intent products over the coming months. My heart is full of gratitude as I reflect upon this journey over the past five years. I cannot thank the intent community, friends and family enough for supporting intent over the years. When I first launched intent, I didn’t know if I would sell one bag but now I have almost sold out of every product. This is due to all of the support I received from all over the world.  I have learned so much from intent. It has brought me community, creative freedom and beautiful connections. For that, I am beyond honored. Thank you to all of the local photographers and creatives who believed in my vision and helped me bring it to life.Thank you to the all of the store and farmers market managers who took a chance on intent.

Intent has always been about transparency, so with that I want to be honest about the closing. I have operated intent as a side business while working full-time, and throughout graduate school. The past year or so I have invested less time and energy into intent as other aspects of my life became more of a priority. I felt this constant guilt that I was never doing enough with intent but at the same time I felt burnt out and wanted to spend less time on social media. I felt torn and considered selling the company since I had close friends interested in taking over but as I was investigating the possibility of selling, I learned that my manufacturer was out of mesh and could not make more of the mesh tote or produce bags. To me, this was a beautiful sign from the universe that it is time to let go of intent without guilt of keeping it alive.

Over the next few months, I will have a closing sale from the remaining products (backpack and tote) for 50% off. I am also happy to donate some products if you reach out to me and have a cause that would align with intent’s mission. For anyone considering starting a small business in San Diego, feel to reach out to me with any questions as I would love pass along any advice that may help your journey. As for the future, Current Creators will still be operating community events. This is run this with a friend on a voluntarily basis separate from intent but incorporates all of the aspects of intent I loved the most, community, markets and supporting entrepreneurs.
